The Englewood Regional Sports Complex Supervisor oversees and coordinates all maintenance and operations at Englewood Sports Complex and Englewood Park. The amenities at these facilities include youth & adult softball fields, youth & adult baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, a recreation center, pickleball courts, and tennis courts.If selected you will collaborate with the rest of the Sports Tourism, Facilities, & Programs division on best practices, renovations, and reservation support to ensure athletic fields and facilities are kept in excellent condition, maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity.

About the PositionIn this role you will oversee the daily operations of the Englewood Sports Complex & Englewood Park, focusing on customer service, facility reservations, and programming. For more information, see below...
Facility Operations:
Responsible for revenue generation at the facility, staff scheduling, activity promotion, program coordination, and budget management for supplies and equipment.Manage site inventories, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of reservations, visits, and activities through RecTrac.Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards. Coordinate maintenance and repair work to avoid conflicts and maximize usage of the facilities.Work with facility renters to offer a variety of fitness classes, sports, educational sessions, and seasonal activities.Supervise the setup and teardown to ensure all necessary equipment and facilities are ready for programs, rentals, tournaments, and/or events.Address any maintenance emergencies during events, such as power outages, plumbing issues, or structural problems.Coordinate staffing, budgeting, marketing, equipment setup, and partnerships while ensuring compliance with safety and facility guidelines.Prepare reports; collect, analyze, and evaluate data and information and develop conclusions and recommendations thereon. Maintain time and production records. Hire necessary staff, conduct performance reviews, and handle employee relations issues.General Facility Maintenance:
Develop maintenance programs in coordination with Division staff.Plan, coordinate, supervise schedules, and train staff in proper turf and field maintenance practices, procedures, general upkeep, and maintenance of facilities at the sites. Ensure the structural and aesthetic integrity of all athletic fields & courts, the recreation center, and the facilities at the sites. Apply professional turf grass standards to determine the effectiveness of the maintenance program and operation. Monitor athletic fields & courts, the recreation center, and facilities at the sites to ensure compliance with established maintenance rules, regulations, safety standards, methods, guidelines, and procedures. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of athletic fields, courts, and facilities at the sites. Coordinate with the Division’s IPM and Renovations staff on scheduling of fertilizations, applications of herbicides and insecticides, and other cultural practices.Monitor the performance of independent contractors and vendors.Order materials, supplies, and equipment; prepare work orders for the accomplishment of maintenance needs; prepare annual maintenance budget; enter data into computer. Direct staff in the performance of annual renovation projects.Supervise and coordinate routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of all facilities' areas, including playing fields and courts, recreation center, playground, restrooms, parking lots, and common areas. About the ScheduleWork Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Must be available Sunday - Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and willing to work on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
Work schedules will vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, weekend tournaments, emergencies, etc.
About YouMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education -AND- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of athletic fields, sports complexes, or recreation facilities.
-OR- Associate degree -AND- Two (2) years of experience in the operations and maintenance of athletic fields, sports complexes, or recreation facilities.
-OR- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, at the manager's discretion.
One year of supervisory experience.
Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. Employees can use handling devices (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50-plus pounds.

Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience.
Parks & Recreation Professional Certification.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience with athletic tournaments, recreation facilities, and/or events.
Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (C.D.L.).
Specialized training and/or certification in irrigation, herbicide, pesticide application, and/or turf management.
