**Responsibilities**
This position manages multi-disciplinary teams in the operations, maintenance, documentation, and control of building equipment and systems. Serves as the primary resource for day-to-day technical guidance. Drives productivity and timely resolution to complex engineering problems. Establishes and maintains high work quality and customer service standards. Develops and implements preventive and predictive maintenance strategies designed to meet regulatory requirements and maximize equipment life while remaining fiscally responsible. Assists in the resolution of technical engineering problems and continuously evaluates opportunities for operational improvements. Makes judgments, directs staff, and takes immediate action required to maintain service delivery and continuity, ensuring minimal system downtime. Manages required inspection, testing, and documentation of systems for regulatory compliance. Responsible for the development of Facilities personnel through vendor training, in-house seminars, and on-the-job training programs. Promotes and facilitates high ethical standards, teamwork, process improvement, and improved safety. Responsible for the operating budget of the organization and assists the Unit Head in creating the annual budget. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Hire, mentor, train, and evaluate employees assigned to the work unit. Redirect staff and other resources to effectively respond to emergency situations involving fire, flooding, utility failure, structural damage, contamination, evacuation, entrapment, etc. Communicate with other work units to coordinate efforts, resolve problems, and expedite work. Prepare, submit, and maintain reports and other documentation as required. Review documentation prepared by employees for completeness and accuracy. Participates in the review of plans for remodeling and new construction by providing input into the design and specification of equipment.
**Qualifications**
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred. An Associate’s degree or 2 year vocational certificate/license is required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management. In lieu of degree requirement a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in facilities management with 4 years of experience within a healthcare setting is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and/or HVAC-R operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience required. Experience with the development and implementation of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance strategies. Knowledge and understanding of AHCA and TJC standards Willing to be available for Facilities emergencies.
