About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Superintendent – Electrical Maintenance, the Supervisor – Fixed Plant Electrical will ensure the assets within the Concentrators including the Blayney Filter Plant, Gold Room and ancillary infrastructure are maintained to allow the processing plant to achieve the required rate at the required utilisation while realising maximum metal recovery and optimum concentrate grade.

Technical Accountabilities:
Ensure all electrical installations are in compliance with relevant Australian standards.Ensure a structured maintenance system is understood and complied with by the work team.Ensure shift change over meetings are held at the start of every shift and provide quality information and direction to the oncoming shift.Regularly review the back log to ensure work orders are either completed or re-scheduled.Ensure all safety incidents and hazards are correctly documented and followed up.Ensure on the completion of all maintenance tasks.Oversee investigations pertaining to production loss events and ensure effective incident management procedures are executed.Ensuring all critical issues are highlighted and communicated to the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Scheduler, Operations Coordinator and Maintenance ForemanEnsure the relationships between the Operations, SAOC, Asset Management, Planning, Supply and relevant contracting companies are productive, seamless and constantly improved.Ensure compliance to completion of all pre-start checks on mobile equipment/vehicles, welders, lifting equipment, overhead cranes etc.Ensure compliance to completion of all work orders.Ensure all electrical installations are in compliance with relevant Australian standards.Ensuring Technicians capture and raise issues within their respective areas using the tools and systems provided.
Scheduling Accountabilities:
Ensure respective roster is effectively managed to ensure adequate personnel are available to carry out the required work, this includes the effective communication of this roster to the work team.Ensure all personnel are trained to the required competency level.Ensure that Technicians adhere to all work order-related documents, including JSEA's, CSRA's, SWI's, and other relevant compliance requirements.Ensure reports are completing OCCC’s (or HRT’s) at the required rate and to the required standard, when rolled.Positively contributing to Supervisor meetings to ensure issues are raised/discussed and resolved.
People Accountabilities:
Ensuring a documented training plan exists and sets out a direction for the crew to develop their reports in skill areas that are deemed necessary for both individual development and business needs.Support and promote a business improvement culture by encouraging reports to enter ideas, overseeing the management of those ideas and ensuring roadblocks are removed or escalated.Support and promote a positive safety culture by encouraging Technicians to complete Hazard CardsCarrying out a minimum of 4 Field Critical Control Checks per roster cycleSupport and promote a safe workplace by ensuring the use of See Stop Controls and JSEA’s and the continual review of these documents.Building and maintaining a positive, productive team cultureEnsuring the effective roll out of monthly safety presentations to the work team.
The ideal candidate will have a safety focus and the ability the improve the safety culture within the team and department.
You will also possess the following:
Demonstrated significant experience in Mining or Heavy IndustryNSW Electrical Supervisor CertificateHV3 On the surface or UndergroundAbility to multitask and prioritise and in high pressure situations.Demonstrated ability and knowledge to work safely and follow procedures.Able to work in a Team environment.
Please note this is a 7/7 rotating D/N shift, residential role in Orange, NSW.
