Supervisor - Housekeeping
Position Summary To manage all functions related to cleanliness and condition of the hotel guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas. Ensure that all front and back of house areas on guest floors are presented and maintained and the timely turnaround of guest rooms is guaranteed. To actively support room attendants executing their daily tasks and interact with guests daily to ensure all guests receive extraordinary service.Primary Responsibility • Directly manages the operating units under his/her scope • Assigns duties and responsibilities to room attendants and housemen • Ensures all housekeeping service standards are maintained • Ensure Room Attendants deliver exceptional guest service • Handles all guest and internal complaints in a courteous and efficient manner • Inspects guest rooms ensuring they meet the highest of standards • Prepares VIP rooms • Leads 4 to 5 room attendants daily to operate a designated section. • Takes full ownership of all operations in his/her designated section, including but not limited to impeccable delivery of service requests, room discrepancies and general tidiness. • Assists every room attendant is his/her designated section with the preparation of 2 beds, for departure rooms only. Maximum making 10 beds together with his/her room attendants daily. • Prepares two departure rooms for every room attendant is his/her designated section enabling an expedited cleaning by the room attendant. By removing soiled linen, waste, in-room dining trolleys and any auxiliary items such as extra beds or baby cots. • Interacts with 5 guests daily in their designated section and records their interaction on a report • Reports lost and damaged items • Reports and follows up on repairs and maintenance for the room condition, equipment and tools. Identifies engineering related work orders of guest rooms and public areas. Raises a minimum of 20 engineering related work orders daily. • Supports departmental trainers through ongoing feedback and assistance • Supports the skills and effectiveness of all room attendants and housemen through the appropriate training, coaching and or mentoring • Provides feedback to senior managers on performance development in order to assist Housekeeping attendants to achieve their professional development goals • Assists with monthly inventory • Assists with the preventative maintenance of cleaning equipment • Conducts proper shift hand over and communicates with fellow colleagues • Maintains an effective inventory record by conducting regular physical inventories • Maintains a professional working relationships with all colleagues • Performs other duties as requiredRequirements • Minimum secondary level education • 2 years’ Supervisory experience or Senior Room Attendant level • Sound computer skills • Ability to work under pressure • Ability to work in a team environment • English speaking/writing skill
