Supervisor I, Clinic
Community Health Systems
Takes the lead role in coordinating the multidisciplinary approach to planning and providing care while ensuring that clinic resources are being used in the most efficient manner. Responsible for facilitating and assisting patients through the healthcare continuum while increasing the efficiency and quality of care. Serves as a patient advocate and liaison between the patient/family members and the physicians, surgeons and other healthcare professionals. Delivers supportive care in a personal and professional manner. Administers nursing care in an outpatient facility or clinic.
Oversees staff responsible for clerical and customer service functions within an outpatient facility or clinic. Answers complicated patient care inquiries, oversees appointment scheduling and monitors medical records coding. Contacts insurance providers to verify coverage and benefits. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
**Education:** Requires a High School diploma or General Education Diploma and a graduate from an accredited Nursing or Healthcare program from an educational institution that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Higher Learning is preferred.
**Experience:** One (1) to three (3) year(s) of experience working in a physician medical office is required. Progressive experience in healthcare management with increasing levels of responsibility and authority is preferred.
**Licenses/Certifications:** Must hold and maintain current registry or certification as a Medical Assistant OR licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Tennessee and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
**Skills:** Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
