Supervisor I (Materials Management)

PURPOSE
The Supervisor I, Materials Management, is responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling material required for EPB operations. This includes utilizing the inventory tools to efficiently receive, warehouse, issue, and accurately account for the material. Supervises transportation of materials to and from departments, facilities and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization. Contributes to the development and growth of all employees and seeks to update policies and procedures. The Supervisor I, Materials Management, is responsible for managing both union and non-union personnel.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Create a collaborative environment that encourages two-way communication between staff and leadership.
+ Assign job responsibilities, monitoring job performance, conducting appraisals, resolving employee issues, and establishing employee development programs.
+ Utilize a mentality of identify, plan, execute, and review to enhance, create, and improve processes consistent and in line with the ERP System.
+ Ensure material availability for work flowing through the area by efficiently managing the reorder process, establishing high standards for inventory accuracy, and providing timely information to the Purchasing Department at EPB.
+ Ensure the safe operation of equipment used by employees to move material to staging areas or the customer. Understand and adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
+ Analyzes cycle count adjustments to ensure accurate inventory accountability and make recommendations to improve inventory accuracy.
+ Promote a customer-focused culture.
+ Provide routine reports and updates related to the work performed in Materials Management and keep leadership informed of progress, problems, and trends. Make recommendations for revisions or improvements as needed.
+ Hold employees accountable to performance standards, including customer service, productivity, deadlines, and professional behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor ’ s degree in business, supply chain management, operations management, logistics, or related technical field preferred.
+ 3-5 years related experience and/or training required.
+ Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required; union experience a plus.
+ Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management required.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
CERTIFICATIONS and/or OTHER REQUIREMENTS
+ A valid driver ’s license and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles. Must operate motor vehicles during regular working hours to perform various tasks assigned.
+ Ability to analyze data to recognize trends and recommend or implement process changes based on those trends.
