Summary

Accountable for Managing the Supply Chain operations across 7 shifts, running 24/7. Responsible for global logistics management of finished goods, meeting budget, quality, operational goals, setting standards and making employment and staffing decisions.  Interprets policies, procedures, and programs. Responsibilities include oversite of 335K square ft. warehouse facility with 50% automation. Assists the site leader with managing an operating budget of 13.7M with annual shipped cases per year of ~35m cases per year, 100 truckloads per day.  Reporting directly to the role are 4 Warehouse Supervisors and 6 Warehouse Specialists and 62 indirect reports from Warehouse Operations and Logistics.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Responsible for driving operational excellence and flawless execution in the areas of cost reduction, process and productivity improvements, transportation management, product deployment, inventory turnover, regulatory excellence including exception reduction and internal/external regulatory commitment management, on time delivery and lead time reduction, and improving the overall safety of the work environment,Leadership development and the ability to create a vibrant continuous improvement culture based on the principles of QLP, Baxter Operating System, Lean Manufacturing principles, total employee involvement and DMAIC problem solving.Adhere to key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain order fulfillment to measure actual performance against goals.Creates and implements plans to ensure all performance measures and objectives are met.  Monitor and measure supplier performance and ensures all business requirements are met.Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.Identify/prioritize/provide resources to assist the Site Manager to meet the annual operating plan and budgetary commitments.Creates and implements integrated and standardized processes among internal functions and with outside suppliers/vendors.Manage staffing requirements for the team.  Analyzes the resource requirements and establishes plan to meet staffing requirements.  Ensures that all talent management objectives are being met through development planning and setting individual and group performance objectivesOwn the Best Place to Work workplace program that drives engagement of all employees at all levels & be the leader for all representatives.Align with HR on employee disciplinary issues up to and including suspensions and terminations.  Emphasize training and implement control systems to eliminate discrepancies.Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Shared Values.Support and emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department.Ensure that all operations are in line with Federal and local legal requirements and including but not limited to cGDP and cGMP.Ensure that all operations are in line with Baxter Corporate and quality manual requirements.Implement programs to ensure compliance with all function, corporate, state and federal regulations as they relate to employment, training, health and safety, quality, pharmacy, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and International Trade and export compliance.Proactively address challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and anticipate emerging and future customer, marketplace, and competitive trends.Foster and maintain a culture of safe behavior and zero-harm workplaces.Actively participate and show leadership support for the safety action team committee.Lead Baxter Operating System for the warehouse (BOS)Use BOS as single tool to drive operational excellence at all levelsImplement the most cost and time efficient techniques for dealing with challenges as they ariseMeasure WH productivity as a management tool for further optimizationsEncourage innovation and technology and assess their feasibility to implement within the system and the entire organizationMaintain, ensure, and monitor a high degree of operational excellence (using KPI’s)Internal communication and engagementCommunication with all CustomersAssessment of Customer expectations & FeedbackInternal productivity, efficiency & control.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong communication skills (with Commercial, Customers, direct reports, peers, and leadership) and ability to develop rapport with other functional leaders inside Baxter and Supply base.  Ability to communicate and present to multiple levels of the organizationStrong leadership skills including leading cross-functional projects with broad scope and impact to BaxterDeep understanding of all aspects of Supply Chain including financial, operational, cost impacts, inventory turns and service levelsThinks strategically, embraces change, challenges status quo, and makes recommendations for improvements.Strong, proven development skills for developing top talentAnalytical mindset for solving complex cross functional problemsAgile mindset to constantly adapt to a changing environmentExpertise in Operational Warehouse and Distribution Management including Environmental, Health and Safety programsExperience in JDE and WMS applicationsOperational Excellence ExperienceEHS overall knowledgeLEAN Six Sigma, QLP experienceGood Manufacturing PracticesFDA guidelines and process validation10% travel 

Educational Requirements include: 

BS in Operational/Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or similar degree preferred3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality and or Logistics/Warehousing required
