The Sales Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of Client Managers (account managers for Elsevier Global Medical Education. This position will provide leadership of staff towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values. This position will also execute plans and strategies to expand in new business sales, drive prospecting opportunities and achieve goals in the Print segment.
Assist the Sales Manager in achieving sales goals and objectives, usually by implementing and revising sales strategies and directing and motivating the sales team. As part of implementing sales campaigns: assign territories and leads, set attainable objectives by forecasting quotas, and help sales representatives improve their performance. Maintain a pristine record of customer satisfaction in accordance with company policy. This will require the routine handling of customer concerns and issues and providing sales representatives and support staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to address these problems. Keep track of inventory and ensure control over discounts for certain customers, price changes, deals, promotions, etc. Coach performance and develop account managers. Coordinate with the Sales Manager to execute and implement sales strategies that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Prepare individual action plans, as well as by team for effective sales and pipeline management. Ensure that all account managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes. Provide timely, accurate prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin. Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity reports submitted by the account managers. Effectively communicate with the Sales Manager to understand training and development needs and to provide insights for the improvement of the account managers’ performance. Manage a team of Market Researchers and Sales Support Administrators. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Other projects, tasks and duties as assigned.
