Overview UF Health Pathology Laboratories (UFHPL) Endocrinology/Immunology Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for oversight and performing of technical activities in a CAP accredited laboratory. This includes both clinical and research testing in the areas of Chemistry and Immunology. Supervises the daily operations of the technical section(s) including work assignments, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, inventory and purchasing. Performs evaluations and monitors competencies of technical staff. Ensures procedures and methods are performed according to section protocol and that quality assurance standards are met. Provides technical expertise in the use, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all laboratory instruments, equipment and reagents. Performs routine and specialized procedures as necessary and assumes further operational responsibility in the absence of Director of Operations. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Licensed or temporarily licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in one of the specialty areas to which the position is allocated and for which the laboratory is licensed under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes and four years of appropriate experience. Preferred Qualifications:: Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Immunohematology, Molecular Pathology, Microbiology, and Serology under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes. Prior Clinical Laboratory experience in the area of endocrine autoantibody testing and the analyzers used to perform this testing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate and execute scientific experiments. Ability to use problem solving techniques in the laboratory. Ability to communicate with collaborative investigations, physicians, nurses and technologists. Ability to collect and analyze data. Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the Biological Sciences. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or UF Health Pathology Laboratories automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration:: Must possess a current license as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Clinical Chemistry, Immunology/Serology under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes or be eligible for a temporary license. ASCP certification is strongly preferred. Temporary licensure must be permanent within one year of accepting position, if not the position is automatically forfeited.
