Supervisor Language Access
Overview Expected pay for this position is $26.99/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This job is located in Rockford,IL. This is a salaried position, a working supervisor. Appointments vary and can start as early as 6:30am and go later in the day. The team covers them as needed. It is a day shift, Monday through Friday position but can vary in the day shift hours based on needs. POSITION SUMMARY: The Language Access Supervisor ensures organizational compliance regarding Title VI Limited English Proficiency standards by providing supervision {can we change this to coordination or something similar?} and administrative oversight to the language access team and administering language services through design and implementation within the scope of the operating entity. Following these standards, is responsible for the development of quality and performance indicators, gathering and analyzing data, as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and resources. Program Manager ensures Mission Partners and contracted professionals meet standards of practice for healthcare interpreters. Serves as a resource to assist staff in understanding cross-cultural issues and dynamics in order to ensure cultural competencies and meaningful effective communication mutual respect in the patient relationship. The Supervisor functions as an expert with a high-level proficiency of Language Access Services. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Other Licenses/Certifications: Current certification from the Certification Commission for HealthCare Interpreters or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters Experience: Associate's degree and 2 years of experience as a medical interpreter in healthcare setting OR High School diploma and 5 years of healthcare/medical interpretation or language access program experience. Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
