About the Role


The IOC at BHP is seeking to recruit for two Supervisor – M1 Maintenance positions. In this role, you will lead a team focused on the monitoring of equipment and operations to ensure safety, reliability, productivity and engagement outcomes across site maintenance, maintenance planning and production teams.

In this full-time permanent position, you will be based at our Brisbane corporate office and work an attractive day shift only roster pattern (12.5hr shifts).

You will work in an environment which is dynamic and striving to continuously improve performance, and with this, you will be involved in continuous improvement projects to help us become even better!

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of M1 Maintenance Controllers that:
 

Take operator calls for machinery faults via radio and troubleshoot in real time providing recommendations. Prioritise (triage) the diagnosis of unplanned maintenance events through the use of online telemetry. Analyse sensor and alarm data from mining machinery to make informed decisions that prevent unplanned machinery downtime. Monitor tyre temperature and pressure and action/respond as per Tyre Sense Monitoring TARP. Monitor the quality of data transmitted from mobile machinery to ensure other processes can function correctly. Raise SAP notifications for defects on in-scope mining equipment. Proactively communicate with a range of stakeholders to influence and guide maintenance and production teams in a time constrained environment. Optimise operational practices to improve equipment condition and reliability. Develop and foster positive relationships with our site operations, including travel to our mine sites. Collaborate across IOC, Maintenance & Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) and site maintenance teams to implement improvement initiatives. Raise improvement opportunities for analytical tools to enable greater fleet reliability.

About You


As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate:

 

Strong focus on supporting the safe and reliable operation of mining equipment. Ability to assess threats/opportunities, make informed decisions, and foster a risk-aware culture. Foster inclusion, balances team capabilities, enables change, and shares an engaging vision for team alignment and high performance. Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  Prioritise work effort and resources accordingly.  Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  Experience in leading large teams will be highly regarded. Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work autonomously. Exceptional presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and facilitate presentations. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach to improve performance and upskill. You will be a motivated individual who can use their relationship building and negotiation skills to influence others and achieve desired outcomes. You will exhibit strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems. You can work in high pressure environments with tight deadlines. You have a track record of working successfully to monitor, diagnose and manage the condition of mobile mining machinery in a maintenance context. Relevant experience in Reliability Engineering or condition monitoring highly regarded.
