The incumbent in this position is entrusted with the technical and administrative leadership of the maintenance team. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing maintenance personnel, as well as formulating work plans and scheduling tasks for a team of multi-craft shop professionals. This team comprises maintenance mechanics, chiller mechanics, pipefitters, instrumentation technicians, and electricians.
Ensures that all team members possess the necessary knowledge and expertise to perform their duties safely, efficiently and effectively. This includes adhering to all compliance standards and regulations, and conducting both preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, utilities, and facilities in strict accordance with Lilly HSE and regulatory requirements. By integrating lean principles, we aim to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and enhance the overall safety and productivity of our maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
Foster a culture of safety and ensure adherence to HSE standards daily.
Lead weekly team safety meetings and conduct Gemba walks routinely.Ensures that all team members are knowledgeable, compliant, and safely performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, utilities, and facilities in accordance with Lilly HSE and regulatory requirements.
Quality
Ensures that all team members are knowledgeable and compliant with meeting quality standards as defined by Global Quality Standards, and local procedures. Includes ensuring Data Integrity and good documentation practices are utilized by all team members while performing job tasks and documenting work, meeting ALCOA+ principles.Always maintain a state of inspection readiness.
Operational Excellence
Ensure maintenance functions are performed timely, initiative-taking, and compliant manner.Use information systems to manage work and communicate with customers (i.e., GMARS, Outlook, Word, Excel, Business Objects, etc.).Ensure personnel ITPs are accurate for their roles and training compliance is maintained at 100%.Manage the backlog. Establish maintenance work schedules with equipment owners and operations to coordinate maintenance support and ensure all regulatory compliance requirements and system needs are met.Assign appropriate craftsperson or arrange for a contractor to perform the job.Review all completed work orders for proper documentation and close the work order.When appropriate, assist craftspeople and engineers in troubleshooting equipment/systems to determine problems and the corrective action required.Ensure maintenance personnel are engaged in process teams.
Productivity and Continuous Improvement
Apply technical expertise and background to ensure all plant utility systems are maintained in a high state of readiness while utilizing Lean principles.Understand the BCP and emergency management and site outage practices.People
Oversee the development of performance management strategies for individuals within the organization, ensuring alignment with both organizational and corporate priorities.Recognize, document, and effectively collaborate with team members that are not meeting their Performance Management plan goals.Maintain appropriate personnel records (e.g., attendance calendars, time entries, etc.).Utilize recognition tools as appropriate to reward individual and team accomplishments.Conduct recruiting and hiring activities as needed, including candidate screening, interviewing and selection.Basic Requirements:
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.Five (5) years of maintenance experienceGood communications and documentation skills.Strong self-management and organizational skills.Proficient GMARS (CMMS) user.Ability to work well as member of a cross functional team including engineering, operations, and quality.Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, and other safety aspects pertinent to maintenance activities.Willing to respond to call-in and scheduled overtime work.Ability to coach and provide feedback to employees while setting expectations and monitoring results.Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs.Additional Skills/Preferences:
