If you have a passion for strategic sourcing, inventory management, and team leadership, this is the perfect opportunity for you!What You'll Do:Lead and Inspire: Supervise and mentor a team of buyers and manufacturing buyer/planners, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any personnel issues.Collaborate: Work closely with departmental managers to determine material quantities needed to meet operational requirements.Train and Develop: Identify and address the training needs of your team to ensure they are equipped with the skills to excel.Optimize Sourcing: Partner with other Victaulic locations to find the best vendors and products, ensuring top quality and competitive pricing.Ensure Timeliness: Work with internal departments to achieve a 97% on-time manufacturing performance, ensuring materials are available when needed.Innovate: Play a key role in new product launches within the facility.Strategize: Develop strategic sourcing initiatives and find alternative sources for goods by collaborating with vendors, Engineering, and QA/QC Departments.Monitor and Improve: Keep a close eye on inventory levels, Kanban cards, and reorder points, taking corrective actions as needed.Negotiate: Liaise with the Corporate Sourcing team to negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms with vendors.Report and Analyze: Prepare comprehensive reports to evaluate the performance of the inventory team.Quality Assurance: Ensure all received goods meet Victaulic’s quality standards and oversee inventory audits and cycle counts.What We're Looking For:Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4 years) or a master’s degree in a related field.Experience: At least 5 years in Purchasing, Material Control, or Manufacturing Planning (or 3 years with a master’s degree).Technical Skills: Proficiency in AS400/Profound preferred, and experience with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.Personal Attributes: Goal-oriented, detail-focused, reliable, self-motivated, and able to multitask effectively.Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.Customer Service: A strong customer service orientation.Flexibility: Willingness to travel infrequently to Fab shop locations.
