**Job Summary** Responsible for the supervisor of Insurance Verifiers, Pre-Registration Specialists, Outpatient Clinic Registrar, Customer Service and Cashier staff. This includes planning and implementing procedures, policies, and work schedules. Maintains the customer service quality productivity and attendance policies and programs for those associates under his/her leadership. Acts as a team member and resource for associates. Delivers required education and training to staff. **Essential Functions** + Serves as supervisor to the Insurance Verifiers, Pre-Registration Specialists, Outpatient Clinic Registrar, Customer Service, and cashier staff, to include hiring, training, evaluations and providing discipline up to and including termination. + Responsible for scheduling and setting priorities for the Insurance Verifiers,Pre-Registration Specialists, Outpatient Clinic Registrar, Customer Service, and cashier staff. + Responsible for assuring the insurance verification, pre-registration, outpatient clinic, customer service and cashier policies are up to date, efficient, address customer service standards and meet regulatory requirements. + Works with physician offices to assure that the prior authorization has been completed for all necessary procedures. Works to stay current with changes made insurance companies, with contract requirements, providing utilization review nurses with patient information for those requiring ‘clinical information for pre-certification’. + Completes monthly statistics, auditing, financial and productivity reports, as well as other reports as requested. Explains any statistical data out of the standard, or reflecting errors/non-compliance to the Registration Manager. + Responsible for quality checking to ensure complete and accurate completion of pre-registered charts and insurance verification sheets. + Answers questions and concerns from patients regarding the approximate cost of the procedure. Answers questions from patients regarding prior-authorization of their account. Assists with customer/patient complaints and takes action as necessary. + Works with Registration Manager and Education Instructor to assure a high quality of customer service skills are being used following the hospital’s guidelines for “Five Star Customer Service”. + Assures that associates are cross-trained to assist with Registration to provide coverage as necessary. + Work closely with Patient Financial to identify changes in reimbursement from Insurance carriers. + Contributes to Performance Improvement activities. + Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written electronic or oral disclosure. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree required + H.S.
