THE JOB:

This role as a Supervisor of Arena Operations at the Mass Mutual Center arena entails supervising all aspects of event rentals, entertainment, and outside services, as well as producing smaller events. The supervisor will ensure that all tasks align with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies and procedures.

STARTING RATE: $22.00 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Responsible for all details of assigned events to include rentals, entertainment, outside services.Work in conjunction with Event Manager to act as first point of contact in the absence of the manager.Prepare organized worksheets for use by MREP and hotel department staffPrepare invoices: pull labor and expenses and create P&L statementsFacilitate event set‐up by acting as on‐site supervisor to crew leads and talentOversee rental load‐in/out and setup/breakdown. Monitor rentals for damages and coordinate return shipments.Interface with hotel departments to resolve issuesBecome fluent in MRE inventory and be well versed on the Event Image site (AIM)Research, select, hire and supervise specialty labor, photography, entertainmentResearch, select and procure specialty products and coordinate any special needsPerform purchasing process: Prepare Purchase Requests and issue Purchase Orders, distribute to Receiving, close POs when complete.  Verify invoices for payments.Request Fire Permits and Certificates of Liability in conjunction with Risk Management


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Proficient knowledge of computers, Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookStrong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environmentDetail oriented, possessing creativity, ingenuity and research skillsExcellent communication skills to interface with vendors and property personnelBasic knowledge of financial terminology and processProfessional, neat and well‐groomed appearanceAbility to lift, climb, stoop as well as stand and walk for prolonged periods of timeExcellent customer service skillsInterpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contactsAbility to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written formsHas high school diploma, GED or equivalentHas 2+ plus years of event industry experience or prior relevant experience
