Supervisor of Maintenance & Reliability

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Supervisor of Maintenance & Reliability to optimize our Biopharma Sciences organization. This role is full-time, on- site at our Paris KY facility.

Minimum Education Requirement:

High School Diploma/ GED

Required Experience (5+ YRS):

Supervising maintenance teams and daily activities, including direct oversight of Maintenance Technicians.Managing vendor relationships and contracted maintenance services.Ensuring compliance with OSHA, cGMP, EPA, FDA, and other regulatory standards.Coordinating and supervising maintenance for facility, production, laboratory, and utilities equipment.Developing and tracking maintenance department metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Hands-on maintenance in a manufacturing environment, including mechanical, electrical, and machine operations.Applying shop skills (e.g., welding, machining) and troubleshooting equipment issues.Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols, such as energy isolation, confined space entry, and lifting/hoisting.

Preferred Experience:

Coordinating preventative maintenance schedules and workflows.Identifying and recommending mechanical, electrical, or control system upgrades to improve quality, safety, and reliability.Conducting root cause analyses (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.Managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing conditions and schedules.Evaluating vendor quotes and optimizing repair planning and scheduling.

The position is part of the Performance Materials/ Biopharma Production organization.  The focus for this team player with business level organizational skills is to:

Supervise, develop, and evaluate Maintenance Technicians, including conducting performance appraisals and supporting skill development.Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.Plan, prioritize, and manage maintenance activities, including emergency repairs to minimize downtime.Organize and maintain maintenance documentation for audit readiness and effective troubleshooting.Identify, recommend, and implement improvements for quality, safety, equipment reliability, and cost savings.Prepare cost estimates and manage maintenance department metrics.Assist in planning and executing plant turnarounds and outages.Participate in RCA, incident investigations, and problem-solving initiatives.Validate and review work requests for clarity and accuracy, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.Support internal and external audits, maintaining a strong focus on reliability and compliance.Effectively manage competing priorities while delivering results in a fast-paced, lean organization.
