Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, this position is responsible for supervising an efficient and compliant admission/registration process. The supervisor will ensure that all regulatory and payor requirements are met to ensure a compliant registration and a billable/payable claim. The supervisor will also be responsible to optimize the patient experience and optimal patient throughput.
Nature and Scope:
This position is responsible to provide effective leadership and assist the Patient Access Manager in the efficient operations of the department. The major challenges of this position include meeting the needs of many customers: hospital departments, physicians, review organizations, and regulatory agencies.
This position will ensure all accounts have been secured financially or routed to appropriate resources for additional financial assistance prior to or at the time of service. This position will establish and ensure compliance for all policies and procedures for patient access in conjunction with the patient access manager. This supervisor will be responsible for diverse locations as assigned by the Patient Access Manager.
The supervisor will plan, develop, and implement procedures. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate hiring practices, staff evaluations, ongoing training, and orientation of employees. The supervisors must demonstrate high leadership standards of professional conduct, courtesy, diplomacy and respect for confidentiality. In addition, the supervisor will be responsible for Kronos, monthly schedules, and will ensure the necessary coverage for the smooth operation of the registration and/or admitting process. Maintaining and preparing monthly and quarterly statistical reports will be done to assure the quality of the work provided by staff of the department. The position may be required to be on call and/or work nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English. AA in Business Administration preferred.
Experience:
One year Patient Access experience required in an acute hospital care setting or successful completion of internal Leader In Training program
One year lead, supervisory, or management experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
