Supervises and directs the daily operations of an assigned area and leads a team of unit operators to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations to optimize all plant economic planning, production, and HSE objectives.
Ensures the safety of all personnel by enforcing safety expectations and encouraging compliance.Ensures operators prepare equipment correctly and safely for maintenance, following all relevant procedures and policies. This includes work permitting and confined space entry procedures and addresses all safety issues as needed.Ensures compliance with PSM which includes writing First Reports of incidents, participating in and leading incident investigations and HAZOP studies, and both writing and editing operating manuals procedures.Monitors employee situations, which require knowledge of Company policies and procedures, and addresses any performance issues as needed.Reviews operational data and lab analysis daily and cooperates with the Laboratory and Planning Economics to ensure that product quality and production plan targets are met.Reviews refinery safety and environmental practices and procedures, and safety and environmental hazards of the process materials, chemicals, and catalysts in assigned areas with operating crews on specific jobs, on shutdown and start-up procedures, and unusual operations.Communicates and collaborates with all refinery departments, including other complex supervisors, to meet operational objectives.Communicates daily with Complex management and communicates to operating personnel daily guidelines orally and written to maintain effective and efficient operations.This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
