South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This is a full-time, permanent position at our head office in Perth.

 

The Supervisor Payroll Data will lead the team accountable for the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls in the APAC region.

You will supervise, co-ordinate and manage the Payroll Data team, ensuring close relationships are maintained with HR Business Partners and the wider HR Services team, with a strong focus on accurate and efficient transaction processing.

Reporting to the Lead HR Services, key responsibilities include: 

 

Supervise a team of 8-10 payroll administration staff, managing timely payments across regions and resolving complex issues.. Ensure compliance through accurate record-keeping and audit coordination while meeting relevant company and legislative requirements. Train and develop team members to meet service targets, improve their skills and maintain quality standards in all processes. Processing of versa cases which have been assigned by other HR Services teams or created as a result of workflows through Success Factors. Investigate and review employee related issues as related to profile set up (in particular during / as a result of changes in master data). Manage key relationships with multiple stakeholders, including Systems, Payroll Governance, HR Services and HR Operations. Identify and address potential issues before they impact service.

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

Bring your leadership style that matches South32's values, with prior payroll leadership experience and the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve excellence while fostering a collaborative environment that drives results and promotes ongoing growth. Strong operational planning and risk management skills. Analytical approach to assess operational risks and develop robust contingency plans, ensuring business continuity and sustainable service delivery. Utilise your comprehensive knowledge of payroll statutory requirements and legislative frameworks, particularly in Australian and Singaporean contexts, to ensure smooth compliance. Sound systems knowledge, ideally in Success Factors, Employee Central and SAP. Create and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, anticipating needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations through effective communication and influence. Champion transformation through your experience in HR system implementation and process design, creating efficient and user-friendly solutions that enhance service delivery.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

Tertiary qualifications in HR/Payroll/Finance/Business-related degree preferred but not essential.
