Supervisor - Pharmacy Technician | Inpatient
**Location:** Avera McKennan Hospital **Worker Type:** Regular **Work Shift:** Primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (United States of America) **Position Highlights** The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for McKennan Inpatient Pharmacy will provide support and strategic oversight to the Pharmacy Technician team through engagement of daily work activities along with people development. The Supervisor will collaborate with other Pharmacy Leaders to ensure strategic objectives are being met and provide feedback for process improvement. Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Maintains efficient and effective pharmaceutical services by directly supervising Pharmacy Technician staff. Assists with overall preparation and distribution of pharmaceuticals. Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers. Must utilize effective problem solving skills. Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Avera and its services in a positive manner to all customers. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. **What you will do** + Responsible for technician and student intern staffing assignments and scheduling as needed to maintain efficiency within the department. + Communicates with the technician staff regularly and reports feedback in a timely fashion to the Leader. + Comprehends and interprets policies and procedures and instructs staff appropriately for compliance purposes. + Assists Leadership in development of policies and procedures regarding technical activities within the department. + Assists Leadership in conducting assigned quality assurance audits on technician activities. + Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Pharmacy Department and applicable accreditations such as URAC, Joint Commission Accreditation, NIOSH, OSHA and other accreditations as may be required by law, practice standards, or departmental policy to maintain compliance with accreditation entities. + Coordinates daily technician work schedule and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency. + Responsible for identification and implementation of process changes to help achieve this goal. + Maintains technical competency in order to serve as the resource for support staff. + Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
