POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supervisor of the Prevention Education and Community Engagement Program is responsible for leading and supervising a team focused on providing prevention education programs to over 20,000 participants annually in schools (elementary, middle, high schools), colleges, and the community throughout the Capital Region.  Work includes the coordination of education programs with allied professionals, development and evaluation of new curricula for use, training of colleagues who provide prevention education programming, and formal supervision and evaluation of each collegue in the department.  Additionally, the Supervisor provides prevention education programming themselves.  Finally, the Supervisor is a member of the St. Peter's Health Partners Crime Victim Services leadership team, and as such represents the program at meetings with various stakeholders and community groups. This position is fully funded by grants,

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field is required, a Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

EXPRIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience working with victims of crime for a minimum of three years is required.  Public speaking and experience providing evidence based prevention education for a minimum of three years is required, with five years preferred.  Understanding and knowledge of the dynamics of crime victimization and the provision of trauma-informed care is required.  Must have reliable transportation to travel to locations where trainings are held, to attend any required meetings, and to provide education/outreach programs. Sexual Assault Counselor certification by the New York State Department of Health is required for this position to provide crisis intervention, victim advocacy, and counseling services (note - if the colleague does not already possess this certification, it will be provided by the program at no cost).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide supervision and training to prevention education staff:

•Lead a team of colleagues providing prevention education in all prevention efforts.

•Train prevention education colleagues on new evidence-based training curriculums

•Guide the development of new training curricula and evalute the appropriateness for specific audiences.

•Ensure that colleagues are receiving appropriate training - internally and externally - to stay abreast of changes and important updates to curricula that are utilized in schools.

•Hire and directly supervise department colleagues, including but not limited to completing necessary processes with SPHP Human Resources, performance evaluations for colleagues, and ensuring compliance with required trainings.

2. Coordinate and provide prevention education efforts

•Ensure that prevention education efforts are being offered at local schools, colleges, and community agencies to reach over 20,000 community members annually.

•Provide evidence based prevention education and training to students and community members on a variety of topics, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse prevention, elder abuse, dating/intimate partner violence, college sexual assault prevention, .

•Assign program colleagues to specific schools or geographic regions to ensure that all necessary areas are covered with prevention services.

•Assist with the development of grant reports and track services to ensure that project deliverables are on track

3. Collaborate with external partners

•Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, and community partners to facilitate the delivery of services to students and community members.

•Serve as a representative and/or liaison between the program and Funders, State Agencies, and/or Coalitions

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as a member of the St. Peter's Crime Victim Services Supervisor team

Develops departmental policies as needed

Supports department-wide responsibilities as needed

Assists with management of daily huddle metrics

Attends staff meetings

Attends meetings with funders

Other related duties as assigned by the Director

Pay Range - $- $

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.”
