Job Summary:
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for all activities relating to the procurement and management of placing and expediating purchase orders. Maintaining efficient workflow, providing leadership and mentoring for assigned workgroup. Responsible for decision making/problem solving issues to ensure customer service levels are maintained at all times, providing outstanding service through effective procurement processes. Supervises and provides guidance to procurement staff on procurement matters. Maintains daily contact with all department personnel, requisitioners, administrators and supplier representatives and co-workers. Runs necessary reports, monitors and maintains KPI attainment and performs on-going training.
Position Responsibilities:
Defines scope of work, sets priorities, reviews planning and controls performance of the team. Monitors team workload and effectiveness to meet internal customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of the activities. Ensure timely creation of purchase orders in response to material/service requests. Evaluate method of procurement i.e. bundle orders, timing, direct, distributor, etc. Ensures effective customer and interdepartmental communication.
Monitors and reviews open PO report to ensure products are being expediated in a timely manner and any exceptions are being resolved and updated in the ERP accordingly.
Develop and maintain training manual for direct reports. Onboard, manage, coach and develop direct reports. Responsible for Orientation and training of new employees and others as requested.
Support and Evaluate Coordinators activities to build efficiencies. Review processes and deliverables ensuring high standard service level with continuous improvement focus using data from the different supply chain systems.
Maintains schedules and backup for Coordinators assuring customer service. Performs other job duties as may be assigned, including covering Strategic Sourcing and Procurement associate shortages.
Review and process Vendor adds and usage reports. Manage and report Product failures.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
2 years’ experience in procurement preferably in healthcare. PC skills and experience in a windows based environment is required.
Required Education:
HS diploma required.
Associates degree in a business-related area, bachelors preferred.
