The role of production supervisor at Endura Products, Inc. oversees and manages the manufacturing processes and assigned duties of the department or work center by supervising staff, organizing, and monitoring workflow to accomplish desired manufacturing results as directed by management. 

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor incumbent will be a proven leader and mentor.  Qualities we look for are: problem solving skills, someone that promotes safe work environment, utilizes resources (HR, HSE, Quality, Purchasing), and can motivate while assess/understand/utilize their staff’s strengths & weaknesses, attendance management.

Qualification Requirements

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel in the use of control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.  Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Manage and maintain staff by orienting and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities. Maintain workflow by monitoring the processes performed by the department, setting processing variable, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, and facilitating corrections to malfunctions or issues within by fostering a work environment of cooperation within the department and the plant. Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating performance, reporting results of production run time on production shift summaries and reports.  Develop a strong working relationship with employees by resolving personnel problems, analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action, as necessary. This position will supervise departmental and/or assigned staff & personnel, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and all applicable employment laws.  Responsibilities include or may include, interviewing and training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, or disciplining performance, addressing complaints or issues and resolving problems.  Coaching performance, process improvement, tracking budget expenses, production planning and participating in strategic company planning.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with continuous (one piece) flow manufacturing, fast paced production, standard work, and pull systems highly desirable, in addition to experience leading production in a made-to-order manufacturing environment.5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environmentBachelor’s Degree (Preferred) or equivalent experienceExperience with Inventory Management Systems such as QAD, SAP, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrate integrity, flexibility and sound judgement, respect for people and good critical thinking skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Positions at this level are responsible for a full range of supervisory responsibilities, including daily work direction, hiring, discipline, and termination of employment, make pay adjustments, communicate performance appraisals, approve absences, and or make employee job/assignment changes.

Essential Functions

Provide total commitment to drive safety, quality, and productivity.Oversee all production work centers in area of supervision.Demonstrate equipment operations for work and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced worker for training.Collaborate with management and supervision to coordinate activities including workload balancing amongst personnel and material needs. Carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and in accordance with all applicable employment law.Supervises departmental & assigned staff & personnel as directed.Analyze, maintain, and recommend manufacturing efficiency objectives for their work units and support action plans.Communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising work results, coaching, counseling, and discipling employees, enforcing policies and procedures as neededInvestigates production problems or product quality issues, as necessary.  Ensures such problems or issues are addressed immediately.Regular and predictable attendance and punctualityRequired to attend all management and production meetings.

Physical Demands

This position operates in a general manufacturing environment, including loud and sustained noise, the presence of nuisance dust, and temperature shifts consistent with the season.  Incumbent may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.  The incumbent will be expected to adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura Safety Manual.  This position is directly responsible for the safety habits and training of all crew members.  This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, & ear plugs) by each crew member on the line.

Work Environment

Exposure to a normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent.  Must be able to withstand heat more than 95 degrees.  Carelessness or improper lifting could result in falls, back strain, cuts, crushed fingers, hands or feet, or other injuries.
