**We are currently hiring a Supervisor Production & Shipping to join the team at our Goderich Evaporation facility in Goderich, ON.**
**Goderich Plant** : Compass Minerals’ Goderich Plant has operated since 1867, after an unsuccessful search for oil uncovered a vast bed of rock salt under Goderich. Using mechanical evaporation, the plant produces high-purity, fine- and coarse-grained salt products in packages and in bulk for commercial, agricultural and industrial applications. The plant also packages rock salt from the mine that is used for deicing and water conditioning.
**Goderich** is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1.5 hours from London and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.
**How will you contribute to the team?**
This position, reporting to the Superintendent, is responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision of the Warehousing and Packaging Department with occasional oversight of the plant production.
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
+ Build strong relationships with team members and promote a culture of respect, open communication, and collaboration.
+ Proactively identify and address potential hazards, conduct regular safety checks, and provide guidance to colleagues on safe work practices.
+ Maintain and implement effective inventory control measures, oversee cycle counting processes, and ensure data integrity within the E1 system.
+ Efficiently schedule shipments, manage relationships with truck drivers and logistics partners, and resolve any transportation issues that arise.
+ Collaborate with the customer service team to address inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive customer experience.
+ Handle customer orders, manage returns efficiently, and communicate order status effectively.
+ Work closely with the Quality Coordinator to maintain high product standards, address quality concerns, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
+ Support the warehouse and shipping team to achieve timely and accurate deliveries, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and customer requirements.
+ Implement strategies to optimize bagging line performance, troubleshoot issues, and exceed production targets.
+ Provide ongoing training and support on safety protocols, food safety standards, and environmental best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Actively contribute to improving plant processes fostering a positive labour relations environment.
+ Provide backup and relief support for production planning and other operational functions, ensuring seamless operations during peak periods or unexpected absences.
+ Perform other related duties as required.

**Minimum Required Qualifications:**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
**Education and/or Experience:**
+ Minimum High School Diploma.
+ Preferred post-secondary education in a related field.
+ 5 years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing setting.
+ Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.

**what is the work schedule?**
+ This position requires working a rotating schedule of day and night shifts, including some weekends, as determined by the supervision team.
+ This position is expected to be on-call in the event of a plant emergency.
+ If you do not live nearby, you will be required to relocate. A relocation package is available to those that qualify.
