As an MRI Supervisor, you will improve patient and work flow by providing support, education and leadership to technical caregivers. MRI Supervisors lead day to day operations of the MRI area in the Imaging Department, demonstrate knowledge of clinical procedures, equipment and policies that are necessary for job performance, collaborate with other department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives, coordinate the work activities of assigned staff associates and patient scheduling, and maintain and achieve daily productivity and quality assurance standards set by management. **A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 4:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Coordinate and direct the activities of Technologists engaged in procedures to obtain safe and economical operations. + Control patient flow and waiting times. + Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling and patient information. + Complete incident and occurrence forms and forward to the Director of Radiology. + Monitor daily reports to ensure all exams are interpreted within 24 hours. + Ensure all contrast and supplies are billed on a daily basis. + Develop and maintain a procedure manual and guidelines in the assigned area and ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures, state and regulatory agencies. + Maintain the assigned area downtime and set schedules for monthly PM time. + Conduct initial and periodic competency assessments for technologists working in assigned area. + Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and contact service if necessary. + Provide the manager with daily procedure counts and any additions to the service file master to include any new procedures and/or supplies. + Check the quality of procedures. + Advise and direct caregivers in the proper performance of their work. + Assist in coordinating on-call and staffing schedules with the Director of Radiology. + Assist the Director of Radiology with annual performance reviews. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology. + Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. + Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and communicate effectively both verbally and written. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Five years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting. + Knowledge of federal and state regulations. Frequent use of the phone, computer and fax machines. + Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching. + Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers. + Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand. + Confidentiality: Has limited access to the medical record for the purpose of verifying orders in the charts or prescription and to sign off after exam completion. In addition, in this position the employee will be limit the PHI disclosed or requested to the amount reasonable necessary to achieve the purpose of the request. The disclosures or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include every patient's orders need to be verified prior to the exam. The employee makes these disclosures for the purpose of making sure that the correct exam is performed due to the doctors orders as well as signing off that the exam was completed of the request.
