GENERAL SUMMARY
*
Supports and coordinates clinical and administrative aspects of the imaging department(s) associated to the job positing. Must be knowledgeable with the imaging informatics systems, such as PACS, HIS/RIS and modality specific logistics. Facilitates communication between departments, providers, and staff to streamline patient care. Oversees the daily operational workflow of the department(s), to include but not limited to optimization of the clinical schedule and supervision of direct reports at New London Hospital and Newport Health Center for the imaging departments associated with this position. Supervising imaging departments include CT & Diagnostic Imaging, or Ultrasound, or Mammography.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assists Director of Diagnostic Imaging in the daily operation of the supervising imaging department(s)
* Supervises staff in use of informatics systems and clinical operations
* Coordinates with Radiology IT for installation of new equipment, networking issues, downtime processes and troubleshooting equipment
* Accomplishes radiology human resource objectives by providing staff evaluations and reports directly to the Director of Diagnostic imaging.
* Meets operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patient-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying system improvements.
* Assists the Director of Diagnostic Imaging with data and image submission for ACR accreditations and annual MQSA inspections, if applicable to supervising department(s).
* Assists Director of Diagnostic Imaging with state regulatory compliance.
* Supports patient care by resolving mammography related complexities with physicians, radiologists, technologists, and ancillary staff; improving and maintaining quality assurance program for department functions.
* Provides statistical reports for quality improvement programs.
* Serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; in addition to federal, state, and local regulations.
* Enhances hospital and departmental reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

* 3 – 5 years of clinical experience in the supervising modality(s), preferably in a leadership role
* Healthcare environment experience
* Knowledge of PACS, HIS/RIS

Associates Degree - Radiologic Technologies

State of New Hampshire License - Medical Imaging

Supervisor Requirements – specific to supervising modality(s):
Ultrasound Supervisor:Certification in Ultrasound – Vascular, General, OB, Pediatrics
Mammography Supervisor:ARRT Certification Mammography
Diagnostic Supervisor (CT/X-ray):ARRT Certification – Radiography & CT
