Position SummaryThe Revenue Cycle Management Supervisor will supervise and lead a team of Billing Specialists and ensure that the goals and metrics set by the department are followed while still providing high quality work and customer service. The Medical Billing Supervisor will also serve as an expert on billing procedures and policies. Previous experience leading a small team is required.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toSupervises day to day activities of Revenue Cycle Team members at Ankeny officeLeads, develops and trains new employees for onboarding and acts as a resource for Revenue Cycle TeamProvides leadership structure to leads and will be their direct reportCompletes weekly timecards for Revenue Cycle TeamPerforms interviews for new Revenue Cycle Team membersWorks effectively interdepartmentally as liaison between Revenue Cycle team and other departmentsMonitors and updates SOP’s for the department on as needed basisConducts monthly 1:1’s with leads and team membersPosts accounts receivable payments per agency remittance advicesResolves valid or authorized adjustments with balancing entries in order to reconcile A/R paymentsValidates accuracy of system posted A/R paymentsBacks up claims denial team as neededReviews quality assurance of all referrals or updated clients from assigned state or local agenciesMakes outbound & inbound calls, emails to assigned state or local agencies with the purpose of securing correct information regarding new referrals, updated clients, and billingsRequired Skills and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of work-related experience in healthcare related field, i.e., healthcare billing institutional and professional claims, patient registration, and/or patient access, or equivalent experiencePrevious experience supervising small teamDemonstrated success in healthcare accounts receivable experienceStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsStrong ability to work with team members across multiple departmentsIntermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelMust have a wired internet connection using an ethernet port. Broadband internet wired to the home is required - Cable Modem/service or Fiber Optic. No Satellite, 4/5G, or DSL circuitsMust have a quiet workspace that is free from distractionPreferred Skills and ExperienceAssociate’s or Bachelor’s or current pursuit of Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, medical administrative assistance, or healthcare financeAAHAM certificationPrevious experience with electronic claims, such as electronic 835/837 claim and remit files, Zirmed, and/or secure payer web portals Previous experience training team members in Healthcare Revenue Cycle best practices in the following areas: billing; claims rejections; denials and appealsPhysical RequirementsRepetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingersSedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periodsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusCompany Overview
