Avera is currently seeking Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

Responsible for direct patient care and supervising the care provided by other professional personnel.  Assist manager in overall management of the unit. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Two to three years of nursing care experience required.  Previous management experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.   Certified in specialty area of nursing practice required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call involvement; 80 hours every 2 weeks
