Discover a more connected Safety Supervisor career At Golden State Utility , as a Safety Supervisor, you'll maintain current knowledge of company safety guidelines, visit construction job sites to ensure job site observations, gate checks, and contractor compliance audits are completed timely. The Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting, facilitating and engaging the principles of the corporate safety program. The Safety Supervisor supports the Field Operations staff by providing critical information and guidance regarding safe work procedures, workplace safety regulations, corporate policies and adopted best practices. Field Safety Supervisor conduct job site observations, guide workers through complicated safe work practices, educate employees on safety regulations, policies and procedures, identify hazards, suggest methods of hazard mitigation, respond to emergency situations, investigate incidents, provide reports and communicate information critical to the prevention of accidents, injuries and near misses. This position will primarily cover our Bay Area locations (Gilroy, Fremont & Selma) but must be able to travel to other locations as necessary. Other locations include: Sacramento, Selma and Manteca. What you’ll do as a Safety Supervisor + Conducts job site safety observations + Implements compliance measures for safety standards, best practices, safe work procedures and safety policies + Provides guidance and education on safe work procedures, best practices, regulations, policies and use of safety equipment + Communicates with site staff and management to ensure a full understanding of the expectations of the safety program + Conducts and completes incident investigations + Assist with the development of JHA’s + Completes site observation reports, investigation reports and near misses + Attends and runs safety meetings + Promotes a total safety culture + Supports corporate safety initiatives + Responds to emergencies + Conducts new hire orientations and other safety trainings What you’ll need + High school diploma or GED required; 2-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred + Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment + Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint + Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record + Ability to travel to locations being supported - Sacramento, Fresno, and Bay Area + Prior experience in telecommunications construction Salary Range: $78,000 - $98,000 / year Why work with us Your career here is more than just a job — it's your pathway to opportunity.
