14593BRDepartment Name:MLI Specimen Processing Location:Meriter Hospital Job Description:The Supervisor of the Specimen Processing Department is responsible for the oversight of the personnel, workflows and processes of the department. The incumbent works within the department to ensure timely and accurate processing of both hospital and reference samples, troubleshooting problems and improving processes to meet the needs of the department. Required Qualifications: • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or an official Medical Laboratory Procedures course of at least 50 weeks • Associate Degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution • Extensive comparable, proven, related work experience in a similar environment may be considered in lieu of education • MA or Medical Lab Graduate: Requires 2-3 years of full time experience in a clinical laboratory setting or a large Specimen Processing Department. • MLT or Associate Degree in Chemical, Biological or Physical Science: Requires 2-3 years full time experience in a clinical laboratory or large medical facility setting. • Requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Must be capable of performing all tasks within 6 months.
