Oversees the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of equipment needed for patient care. Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions for replacement stock. + Provides day-to-day oversight of the unit/department(s) assigned. + Provides leadership, guidance, counseling and continuing education to staff. + Responsible to develop, coach, mentor, and assess performance of staff. + Maintains safe and clean work environment. + Works collaboratively with Operating Room to resolve issues. + Works with staff to promote resolution of conflicts and counsels staff when sterile processing standards are not met. + Assists with coordination of schedule to ensure adequate staffing levels. + Exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving problems within established policies and practices.
