Under the limited, but direct guidance of the Director of Materials Management, the Supply and Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the following for the day to day supervision of supply, supply distribution, linen, receiving, and mailroom.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires an associate’s degree or the equivalent amount of experience. Four years of supervisory experience and preferably two of those years in a healthcare environment. Computer spreadsheet, word-processing and email skills. Most know how to work in a computer mainframe environment. Working knowledge of distribution methods, inventory control, med/surg/linen supplies, receiving and JCAHO/DOH regulations. Working knowledge of organizing, scheduling, delegating, communicating and personnel administration. Ability to independently organize and run meetings. Ability to problem-solve issues involving other departments and outside entities. Ability to read and write the English language. Ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to follow and improve performance through quality management techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is located indoors under normal working conditions. Should be able to push/pull 25 lb., lift/move 15 lb. from floor to table, be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a key board, writing and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to sit at a computer terminal or work station for a prolonged period of time in addition to being able to squat, stand and walk for a reasonable length of time and distance. Sensory requirements include the ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to read the English language.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
A.
Supervises the day to day activities of supply distribution, mailroom, receiving, storeroom and linen.
1.
Information for supply distribution, storeroom and linen received and recorded in computer or appropriate log.
2.
Customer orders are assigned to the appropriate employees.
3.
Customers notified about interruption in service when delays, product problems or staffing issues occur.
4.
Budget, quality and productivity performance is understood and on target.
5.
Service requests are addressed accurately and timely.
6.
Employee performance and needs are understood and addressed to maintain equity, compliance and good morale.
7.
Employees’ time card or Kronos is accurately recorded according to Human Resource and Payroll procedure and reported to Payroll on time.
B.
Hire, train, evaluate and terminate subordinate employees in order to meet service levels.
1.
Approve all hiring of new employees.
2.
Complete performance appraisals on all subordinates by due date.
3.
Complete competencies on all subordinates by due date.
4.
Provide all necessary in-service training.
5.
Implement appropriate discipline within department and hospital guidelines.
6.
Adjust position responsibilities and schedules to meet service needs with staffing.
7.
When required, will cover other Materials Management managerial staff positions.
C.

Budgets are prepared and turned into the Director as per procedure and schedule.

Attend or run required meetings or committees.
3.
Quality and Productivity outcomes are reported to the Director according to the established schedule.
4.
Establish annual strategy and goals for areas of responsibility.
F.
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures related to:
Mandatory education Annual health assessment
1.
Continuing education records will be completed and forwarded to Human Resources annually regarding manda-tory educational requirements.
2.
Complete annual health assessment form as required, maintains current inoculations.

Salary Range: $20.21-29.31 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
