Overview M Health Fairview is seeking a Supervisor for Virtual Interpreters! This is a full time opportunity that offers 80 hours over a 2-week pay period and is benefit eligible! Summary: The Supervisor of Virtual Interpreters at the Midway and Riverside Hub contributes to and promotes innovative and efficient delivery of accessible and quality Language Services. This position supports a culturally diverse staff and oversees staffing, schedules, and day operations for all virtual platforms including TeamLink, Zoom, OPI, Microsoft Teams, and any new and developing platforms that may arise in the near or distant future. This person will work in tandem with the In-Person Interpreter Supervisor. Responsibilities Job Description Job Duties: Support operations for virtual interpreters: work in collaboration with Operations Supervisor Monitor staffing needs regarding demand for service and escalate coverage concerns Understand the needs of both Spoken and ASL best practices for virtual platforms Understand the process of virtual interpreting – firsthand Ability to model and show best practices Train existing staff on best practices while using virtual platforms Ensure accessible methods of accessing tools needed for virtual platforms (I.E. virtual handbook and/or scripting) Create work aids and other resources to streamline work Coach and train interpreters on Communicative Autonomy best practices in medical encounters Understand how to trouble shoot technology and work with IT partners to teach and train Hold staff accountable for responsibilities, competencies, performance and goals Cascade and connect goals to department and organization strategy, mission, vision and values Support recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process to build a cohesive and effective team Lead onboarding process Model expectations of growth and education for staff Monitors best practices within the industry related to provision of services Coach and train interpreters regarding (not limited to): customer service, policies, and procedures Responsible for contributing to annual engagement plan with ownership of identified tactics Encourage development of direct reports by identifying growth and education opportunities Maintains positive interdisciplinary relationships; escalates concerns to appropriate Manager.
