POSITION SUMMARY: 

In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of Melco Resorts Leisure (PHP) Corporation, the Laundry Supervisor, Laundry is responsible in assisting the Laundry Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Laundry department.

The Supervisor, Laundry is also responsible for delivering a quality customer service experience through the proper and excellent laundry cleaning procedures of guest clothes, staff uniforms and other clothing items as requested. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Ensures that all staff performs their duties to the best of their abilities and that they adhere to all policies and procedures established by the company. 
2.    Knows how to operate all equipment and trains the staff in safe and proper handling of the laundry equipment.
3.    Ensures careful handling of guest laundry or dry cleaning items by staff.
4.    Ensures proper use of chemicals, correct amounts for best result and cost effectiveness.
5.    Ensures quality control of uniforms, guest items and linen.
6.    Maintains safe working conditions. Reports any unsafe condition or damages immediately according to established procedures within the hotel.
7.    Remains knowledgeable of all the policies and procedures of the Laundry department.
8.    Assists in conducting cross-training and re-fresher course of the staff to upgrade knowledge and increase their efficiency and productivity. Assists in the training of newly hired employees and provide feedback on the performance to department head.
9.    Provides guidance, constant feedback and reinforcement to motivate and improve performance when necessary.
10.    Suggests improvements, listens and evaluates ideas brought forward by the employees.
11.    Maintains the paper work of each section i.e. Production Reports, Guest Laundry Charges, etc., conscientiously and accurately.

12.    Ensures the maintenance and consistency in the supply of clean uniforms and other garments for the entire company.
13.    Ensures chemicals and other supplies are well-maintained and adequate based on consumption. Do not over-stocked and discourage wastage.
14.    Checks the accuracy of the inventory record and adequate stock levels of all supplies by weekly stock taking and do reporting to the Laundry Manager.
15.    Conducts daily checking of all machines, equipment and cleaning tools to ensure that all are in good condition, properly maintained and stored safely.
16.    Remains knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and ensures that staff are well-trained and complies with it. 
17.    Attends meeting as required.
18.    Maintains a log of all activities during the shift.
19.    Participates in hotel activities concerning protection of the environment.
20.    Conducts spot checking of guest laundry to ensure quality standards are met.
21.    Ensures the quality of delivered linen from the outsource Laundry is monitored and quantity corresponds with what is written in the Pick-Up Slip.
22.    Summarizes the daily production and finalized the monthly Production Report.  
23.    Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately to the department head.
24.    Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
25.    Performs any other duties as maybe assigned by the immediate supervisor.   
26.    Ensures that Kaizen program and initiatives are implemented and adhered to.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

I.    Experience

1.    Two (2) years supervisory experience in a large scale commercial laundry or in a five star hotel with full service laundry facility
2.    Knowledge of  running basic laundry equipment is an advantage
3.    With experience in handling production report and relative expenses

II.    Education 

1.    Preferably college graduate
2.    Computer Literate
3.    English proficient in both oral and written

III.    Skills / Competencies 

1.    Able to work with minimum supervision.

3.    A team player who values teamwork. Has good team building skills and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
4.    Ability to work on flexible shift including overnight, weekends and holidays on rotation basis.
5.    Ability to extend working hours when needed.
6.    Must be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environments  such as, but not limited to noise, chemicals, heat, dust and fragrances. Preferably without history of asthma or with controlled asthma ailment.
