Summary This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C. This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. Responsibilities Responsible for all technical aspects of video production while in operation, and ensures that picture and sound quality meet technical standards of the television industry. As the training officer, supervises and instructs technicians in TV theory, fiber optic theory and equipment operations. Oversees the documentation of the President, Vice President, First Lady and Senior White House staff activities; receives, distributes, and records audio feeds, both on-the-record, and off-the-record from Presidential event sites worldwide. Directs Presidential event audio and video recordings, event setups at locations including the White House Complex, Oval Office, White House Press Briefing Room, East Room, State Dining Room, Rose Garden, South Lawn, etc. Maintains and operates broadcast quality video cameras and audio recording systems, sound reinforcement systems, audio tape recordings and teleprompter systems for the President and others as directed by the White House Military Office. Documents constitutional, statutory, official and ceremonial duties within and outside the United States. Catalogs, edits and duplicates media as requested. Prepares submissions to the National Archives for inclusion in the Presidential Library. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Individual Occupational Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. In addition to meeting the individual occupational requirement, qualified applicants must possess: Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience coordinating broadcast technicians using audiovisual equipment, and experience with teleprompter systems. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum). Education There is no substitution of education for the Qualifying Experience at the GG-13 grade level. Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination. This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
