Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL 51% Direct Support to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the Requirements Determination Division, Maneuver Support Capability Development Integration Directorate, Army Futures Command w/duty at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project. Responsibilities Serves as Deputy Branch Chief and technical advisor for the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) branch within the Requirements Determination Division (RDD). Plans, coordinates, and supervises all activities involved in accomplishing the missions and functions assigned to the branch. Performs as the Branch Chief in their absence. Identifies operational deficiencies and directs initiation of requirement documents to satisfy identifiable needs and capability gaps. Advises internal and external customers to determine program status, major milestones, and coordination of each to ascertain appropriate action required to maintain or improve program schedules. Prepares and reviews, IAW DoD policies, requirement documents for materiel systems to correct identified deficiencies, monitors materiel systems throughout their life cycle. Identifies system deficiencies and improvements for operational capabilities, initiates up grades through the product improvement program. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Participate in capability materiel development program to determine requirements; 2) Analyze materiel systems to determine if they are within performance measures; and 3) Integrate the key elements of a capability and manage the capability through its lifecycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE II/GS11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
