SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST

Summary As a Supervisory Contract Specialist and Competency Lead, you will support about 14 personnel for the Command Support and Training Systems Contracts teams as a first and second-level supervisor. Responsibilities You will direct contract functions for highly complex, high monetary value, and long-term procurement for the acquisition of major systems of high visibility for the Department of Defense, Department of Navy, and Marine Corps policies. You will assess the quality of the work products of the Contracts teams, ensuring contracting documentation meets statutory and regulatory requirements for content, and properly informs the decision authority. You will be responsible for the coordination, planning, development, management and quality of all contracting actions within assigned area of responsibility. You will serve as a member of the Contracts Competency leadership Board to develop the workforce, implement command business processes, and improve essential management business policies. You will plan and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, and evaluate the work performance of employees. You will be responsible for workforce recruitment, training, qualification/certification, and professional development of employees. You will engage in periodic reviews with customers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and developing policies to enhance the effective business operations across the competency; planning, directing, coordinating, contractual and procurement actions for sophisticated and technologically advanced systems; and performing supervisory duties (e.g. assigning work, developing and evaluating performance, providing technical and administrative guidance, taking disciplinary actions, etc.). Education Basic Educational Requirement: You possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. OR You are a current career or career-conditional employee of the Department of Defense who occupied an 1102 or contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000. OR You are a current active duty military member of the armed forces (other than Coast Guard) who occupied a contracting position or similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
