Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the RADIOLOGICAL MONITORING DIVISION, RADIOLOGICAL CONTROLS OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as the Head of the Radiological Monitoring Division of the Radiological Controls Office. You will be responsible for the safe conduct of the radiological work and oversight of radioactive work performed on naval nuclear propulsion systems and radiological support facilities. You will be responsible for the control of personnel exposure to ionizing radiation as well as control of radioactive materials. You will solve problems which involve policy determination or interpretations and collaborates with heads of other units to coordinate work related changes affecting other units. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience managing a radiological monitoring program, an organization, its subordinates, and matters pertaining to radiological controls. * Experience ensuring all radiological work performed result in minimal environmental impact or occupational exposure. * Experience planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the radiological monitoring program. *Experience ensuring that the radiological monitoring program is in compliance with Shipyard regulatory and federal regulatory agency requirements. * Experience directing preparations for drills to ensure adequate on-scene radiological control responses for actual or potential radiological emergencies.
