Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Assistant Nuclear Engineering and Planning Division (Code 2301) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities You will be responsible for planning and supervising the conduct of the work assigned to the personnel in the Engineer Training Branch. You will plan, organize, and accomplish a Nuclear Engineer initial and refresher training program that provides NEPD engineers fundamentals of nuclear mechanical, electrical, and test engineering. You will assign work to staff based on the required completion dates for the work, the relative abilities of the employees, the type and amount of other work already in progress, and the training needs of each employee and the branch. You will ensure timely completion and quality of work, planning the coordination of work by employees, and setting the priorities for the different work assigned. You will prepare the schedules used by the employees for completion of their work. You will perform evaluation and written ratings, initiation of commendatory or disciplinary actions, and processing the formal and informal supervisory actions. You will participate in the shipyard's recruitment program by interviewing prospective employees and recommending which employees are to be hired. You will make recommendations after hiring on the promotion or transfer of employees to other units, determine their needs for training and supervise their progress through the selected training program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying concepts, principles, and practices of nuclear engineering and radiological controls to facilitate the application of engineering principles to the problem resolution/policy making process for the overhaul and testing of light water reactor plants.
