This position is located in the DEA, OFFICE OF OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (OM) Responsibilities As a your typical work assignments may include: Provides proactive management and oversight of OMBP activities and/or functions. Executes and implements operating policies and procedures to support the financial and procurement goals and objectives; appraises and evaluates the results of overall financial operations regularly and systematically reports results to the OMB Section Chief. Collaborates and implements future short and long-range budgetary plans to support the Divisions goals and objectives. Provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the career development program. Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical guidance in all matters regarding financial and budgetary issues; 2) Planning and directing all section operating accounts, as the supervisory technical authority on all budgetary/ financial matters; 3) Developing, implementing, and evaluating status reporting and tracking systems in conjunction with receipt and allocation of various accounts' funding and the obligation and expenditure of funds; and, 4) Organizing work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules.
