SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the NAVAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE IN THE OFFICE of the DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will generate, recommend, and implement, new and revised financial management concepts, methodologies, policies, and strategies in support of an organization’s programs. You will direct and/or perform continuing program execution review, analysis and appraisal of the major operating and support programs within an organization. You will prepare briefs for senior managers on program execution and providing recommendations to correct program variances or problem areas. You will assign work to subordinates based on employee’s capabilities, priorities and difficulty. You will coordinate the development and reporting of cost/performance information in support of mission tasks for an organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing interpretive and analytical advice on financial transactions and program execution; developing format and content to provide managers with various listing, reports, and data relative to status of funds and the propriety of obligations; and ensuring the financial integrity, timeliness, accuracy and validity of supporting managerial accounting, budget execution, and financial management reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
