Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC) in the NAVY FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAS JRB FT WORTH. Responsibilities You will identify hazardous conditions or practices to determine appropriate corrective action. You will recognize new or unusual types of combustibles or hazardous materials to determine their fire expectancy and severity. You will direct the placement of firefighting equipment to ensure maximum utilization in fire control, aircraft crash, or rescue operations. You will assess a patient systematically to identify the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition. You will complete written reports and records on emergency services incidents, patients, drugs administered equipment, or supplies used. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Manages programs and fosters an environment that administers all resources (fire prevention, fire protection, fire suppression services, etc.) in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission; 2) Monitors progress and evaluates outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness; 3) Determines objectives, sets priorities, and ensures sound management processes and procedures are in place; 4) Develops the competencies of others to perform and contribute to the organization by inspiring and providing a learning environment of ongoing feedback and opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods; 5) Operates a wide variety of firefighting tools and equipment, i.e. ladders, rescue tools, power tools, appliances, turrets, and nozzles, etc. in an effective manner; 6) Utilizes knowledge of and ability to apply procedures required to answer, record, and dispatch fire or specialized crews to routine, urgent, and emergency situations; 7) Operates and manages emergency communications center equipment. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. **This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Technician, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Apparatus Driver/Operator Pumper, Apparatus Driver/Operator Aerial, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Airport Rescue Firefighting vehicles, NREMT - Paramedic, and CPR/First Responder First Aid. NOTE: These certifications must have been awarded by DOD, IFSAC or Pro-Board to meet the requirement. Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application to verify eligibility. The employee is required to work a 72 hour week on a 24 hour on/24 hour off basis that includes weekends, and holidays. May be subject to recall.
