Summary About the Position: Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) serves as Chief, Casualty Support Section and advisor to the Chief, Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Branch. Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), at Fort Knox, KY. Responsibilities Research current DoD and DA Publications and local Policy. Analyze information and data; assesses progress of programs, projects and processes. Plans and assigns work, sets priorities, resolves conflicts, and advises team members on program goals and objectives. Communicate and coordinate with project officers internally and externally to the command. Investigates and assists in resolving sensitive issues. Serves as projects officer for various special programs and projects within the Army Casualty Program. Develops periodic or long-range plans for subordinates. Initiates requests for performance awards or disciplinary actions as appropriate. Provides and presents information to include recommendations both formally and informally via oral and written means. Coordinates actions and develops consolidated reports and responses. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing the Casualty Assistance Program for the Commander; evaluating the overall effectiveness of the program through detailed studies/analyses; recommending the need for and updating program policies and written guidance of regulations, pamphlets, implementing instruction, or forms; preparing briefings and position papers, as required; writing detailed reports, displaying information both in narrative and tabular format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Developing Others Leadership Problem Solving Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Military Personnel Management Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
