Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST in the Warfighter Optimization Directorate, Force Health Protection, Industrial Hygiene Division of NMRTC JACKSONVILLE FL. Responsibilities You will represent Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Jacksonville interest in policy matters at interagency meetings and task groups. You will utilize regulations, laws, agency directives, and acceptable exposures and control procedures required to interpret legal requirements and serve as an expert witness in court cases. You will supervise and provide support to industrial work situations involving multifaceted and hazardous industrial operations. You will communicate strategic plans and missions so values are integrated into team goals and objectives. You will formulate industrial hygiene control procedures to manage occupational health hazards within the workplace. You will prepare reports, official correspondence, memorandums, or information papers related to industrial hygiene. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in applying advanced industrial hygiene principles and practices to develop timely and relevant policies and programs. Experience with Federal, Department of Defense, and Navy occupational health laws, policies, regulations, and standards. Experience utilizing the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS) for comprehensive data management and reporting. Experience in accepting and implementing management practices, theories, and techniques, with a strong understanding of organizational structures, functions, procedures, and the relevant regulations as they pertain to occupational health. Evaluation of Education All science or engineering courses offered in fulfillment of the above requirements must be acceptable for credit toward the completion of a standard 4-year professional curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in science or engineering at an accredited college or university. For engineering degrees to be acceptable, the curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) as a professional engineering curriculum.
