SUPERVISORY INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
Summary THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1645P01 and is part of the ND 119 Intelligence Surveilance Recon Group, National Guard. Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to serve as Unit Superintendent and to ensure the operational support services are available for the operations Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit. The incumbent assists the commander in oversight of operational events, exercises, training, professional development, resources, and personnel assessments and programs. The incumbent serves as the unit commander's chief advisor on enlisted and technician related issues as they pertain to the unit's intelligence mission. In addition, the incumbent supervises the unit support staff and information technology specialists. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of the unit's infrastructure, intelligence gathering and reporting procedures, and computer systems. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the assigned technicians, ensuring that the advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate support functions and overall unit program objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Assists the commander in oversight of unit operations. Provides oversight for the communications security (COMSEC) account for the unit. Functions as the senior enlisted advisor for the unit. Provides mentorship and career guidance to unit enlisted personnel such as Professional Military Education, Air Force Specialty training and career enhancement, and promotion requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. MILITARY GRADES: Current E9s, and E8s who are eligible for promotion immediately upon selection. AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligiblity. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts, and experience preparing clear and concise written reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 11 level which includes: 1)Developing and recommending policy; 2) Evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations; 3) Dealing effectively with others through administrative, investigative, or technical work functions; 4) Experience collecting, evaluating, and organizing pertinent facts; 5) Analyze and prepare clear and concise reports; 6) Leading, directing, and assigning work of personnel within the intelligence and supporting communities community.
