SUPERVISORY INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST - DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide Supervisory inventory management and logistics support for various Range systems. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Delegates work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees providing guidance when required. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Works independently on assigned tasks and may distribute tasking to other Inventory Management specialists in the work center. Uses automated information technology (IT) capabilities such as databases, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems and computer-generated products to perform inventory management duties. Responsible for tracking movement of equipment between mission control rooms (MCRs), warehouse areas, remote sites and other Range facilities. Leads, conducts/assists with inventory of equipment items in Range MCRs, warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms and other remote buildings where Range assets are located. Provides customers with inventory management/logistics support or acquisition support required for mission and test programs. Supervises and/or actively participates in planning effective meetings to include agendas, minutes, actions, suspense, and Office of Prime Responsibility (OPR) assignment. Provides inventory management acquisition solutions, costs, and schedules for active projects. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-05 - GS-11 in the Federal Service. Desired Skills: 3 years of experience in defense and/or test and evaluation desired 3 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, and/or shipping/receiving desired. Prior supervisory experience desired KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: In-depth knowledge of applied Inventory Management principles, guidelines, procedures, techniques, and practices. In-depth knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems, material substitution criteria, storage, issue and disposal processes. Ability to plan and organize tasks independently, and to coordinate efforts with engineers, technicians, support contractors, other AF Organizations, DOD and other domestic and foreign government agencies. Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations and procedures to a variety of situations to recommend timely and economical solutions. Strong ability to maintain good working relationships, provide supervision and training to subordinate technical and clerical personnel and provide technical leadership and project management oversight. Strong ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of personnel, both orally and in writing, and to use modern computer software applications in support of communications and presentations.
