Summary About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Research and Development Center (ERDC), Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), Cybersecurity Engineering & Analysis Branch (CEAB), Software Engineering & Informatics Division (SEID), Supervises and leads a branch staff comprised of approximately 40 government employees. Responsibilities Serve as one of the Branch Chief of the Cybersecurity Engineering and Analysis Branch (CEAB). The Branch’s programs are directed towards four technical areas: (a) Cybersecurity Assessments; (b) Security Engineering; (c) Defensive Cyber Operations; (d) Research and Development. Identifies the engineering, scientific, management, and cybersecurity technology needs of the USACE, the Army, DoD, and other federal agencies, and develops research programs to address these needs. Facilitates technical and complex discussions between the customers and branch staff members. Identifies cybersecurity technology needs of the USACE, the Army, DoD, and other federal agencies, and develops research programs to address these needs. Performs management and associated administrative duties for roughly 40 government employees. Plans work and establishes priorities; manages and adapts the workforce to current and future requirements of work; assigns and instructs employees and evaluates performance for quality of work. Manages the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program and information dissemination plan. Manages the resources of the Branch. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in research and development projects involving information technology, cybersecurity, security engineering or involving major computational and networking operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DJ-03 (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DJ-2210-04 (equivalent to GS-13 to GS-14).
