SUPERVISORY NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS OFFICER
Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will conduct program planning, short and long range, and evaluates progress for management. You will be responsible for preparation of all reports and Command briefings dealing with natural resources management and environmental affairs at the Command. You will make important decisions regarding federal and state compliance for the Command’s natural resources, and environmental programs. You will make decisions, which have significant impacts on Command mission programs, employee health and safety, and environmental protection. You will have the lead to promote, monitor and manage the system’s progress. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. You will serves as Command Liaison with Navy, DoD, other federal agencies, state government agencies, and private agencies for all natural resources and environmental matter. You will be responsible for maintenance of ecological data and surveys on all Command lands for use as a management tool in planning, natural resource management, conservation program formulation, reporting the impacts of construction and operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include the following: managing environmental programs, developing policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, assessing environmental impacts, and supporting sustainability and pollution prevention. Education Basic Requirements: Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
