Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the Navy Installations Command, Department of Navy of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC. Responsibilities You will interview witnesses to collect information about a case. You will plan law enforcement classroom training and drills in accordance with the training plan. You will identify law enforcement employee development needs to verify performance goals are met. You will conduct patrols (e.g., foot, bicycle, water) to detect and deter crime. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance on law enforcement and security policies and procedures; 2) Interviewing witnesses to crimes, accidents, or security breaches to determine facts, warrant apprehension, detention, or lesser action; 3) Resolving law enforcement issues; 4) Conducting searches to compile evidence of crime/accident scenes; 5) Reviewing reports for accuracy, discrepancies, and areas of concern. Education There is no education requirement for this position. Additional Information (Continued): You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations. PCS is not authorized. Relocation and recruitment incentives may be authorized. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 month of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
