Responsibilities You will supervise personnel who provide installation security, respond/investigate complaints while enforcing Federal Law, Assimilated Laws, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD regulations, Marine Corps Orders and installation regulations. You will supervise the day-to-day work of Watch Commanders and other Provost Mashal Office/Marine Corps Police Department. You will review and correct all blotters and reports. You will assist the Operations Officer in managing the conduct of required initial training, sustainment training and training on new policies and laws. You will perform liaison with other military and civilian law enforcement agencies. You will prepare reports relating to criminal and civil security hazards, complaints and witness statements for use in legal proceedings. You will monitor unusual situations/ conditions through personal surveillance or electronic surveillance aids. You will respond to and direct personnel at catastrophic events per the National Response Plan and National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) required by Federal Law Presidential Directive and Military Directives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Investigating complaints while enforcing laws and regulations (i.e., Federal and State law, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Navy Regulations, Marine Corps Orders, and base regulations); Directing day-to-day technical and administrative supervision to a group of police officers; Providing guidance on Police, Security, Anti-Terrorism, and Law Enforcement policies and procedures; Responding to critical incidents to ensure safety of the protection of lives or property; Utilizing law enforcement equipment in order to perform security or law enforcement duties; AND Establishing mission priorities to delegate and provide optimal law enforcement output. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. Conditions of Employment Cont. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. May be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with USMC and DoD policy. Must pass all weapons qualifications prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all requalification's as required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to use all police equipment. Certify in the use radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer. The position is covered b the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Fun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position. Must be a U.S. citizen; pass a National Agency Check and local background check. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must meet medical standards for police officers in DoD 6055.05M and NMCPHC-TM OM 6260. If incumbent is conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, incumbent must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or a similar course. Failure to meet conditions of employment may result in disciplinary action or termination.
